Veterinary Assistant – Full-Time or Part-Time
The Animal Eye Institute – Vandalia, OH
The Animal Eye Institute of Vandalia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This position can be either full-time or part-time, depending on your availability.
Office Hours:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Two Saturdays per month: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our team and ensuring the best care for our patients. Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Safely restraining animals for exams and blood draws
- Performing preliminary ophthalmic tests
- Assisting with surgical procedures
- Preparing and cleaning exam rooms and surgical instruments
- Administering and filling medications
- Communicating effectively with clients
- Maintaining patient records and light paperwork
- Supporting in-house patient care (feeding, walking, cleaning)
- General clinic upkeep (restocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, etc.)
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable handling medications and exposure to radiography
- Passion for animal care and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
