Vice President for University Advancement

Southeastern Louisiana University seeks a dynamic, visionary, and experienced leader to serve as Vice President for University Advancement. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for University Advancement serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic leadership to advance the university’s mission, vision, and goals through philanthropic support, and alumni engagement. This position will oversee a comprehensive advancement program, including development, alumni relations, fostering relationships that enhance the university’s profile, secure resources, and promote Southeastern’s role as a leading institution of higher education. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree required; terminal degree preferred Senior leadership experience in higher education, economic development, innovation, industry, government, or a related field Demonstrated success in strategic planning, delivering measurable outcomes through partnerships, and external engagement Strong strategic planning, financial, negotiation, and strategic execution skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with regional public universities, economic development, and innovation ecosystems Track record in public-private partnerships, capital projects, and revenue-generating initiatives Established relationships with industry, investors, philanthropic partners, and community leaders Familiarity with the Southeast Louisiana region and its philanthropic community DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, capital campaigns, and donor relations Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team and foster a culture of accountability and excellence Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of advancement work REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Cover Letter Resume/Vita Copies of Transcripts (official transcripts will be required if hired) Names and Contact Information for 3 References Posting Close Date November 11, 2026 Please Note: Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 p.m. on the posting close date to ensure consideration.
