Job Summary

A growing plaintiff-side employment law practice in Sherman Oaks, CA is seeking an Employment Law Paralegal to join an established legal services team on a direct hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation-focused paralegal who wants to take ownership of meaningful casework, work closely with experienced legal leadership, and contribute to the continued growth of an expanding employment law practice.

The Employment Law Paralegal will support active litigation matters from intake and investigation through discovery, filings, case management, and trial preparation. This role offers direct one-on-one collaboration with the attorney leading the employment practice, providing visibility, mentorship, and the chance to play a key role in shaping workflows, organizing systems, and strengthening day-to-day litigation operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft, propound, and respond to discovery, subpoenas, pleadings, complaints, legal notices, and other litigation documents.
- Manage court calendars, deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, filings, service requirements, and case logistics.
- Prepare, finalize, file, and serve documents in California state and federal courts while ensuring compliance with filing requirements.
- Maintain organized case files, document production lists, Dropbox folders, templates, filing shells, and case management workflows.
- Communicate with court clerks, vendors, process servers, and involved parties to obtain case information and support timely case movement.
- Assist with fact investigation, records review, trial preparation, exhibit organization, and drafting trial materials.

- Pay range: $34.00 to $42.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support plaintiff-side employment litigation matters through discovery, pleadings, filings, case organization, and trial preparation.
- Manage court deadlines, litigation calendars, service requirements, and case documentation.
- Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, subpoenas, records requests, and case communications.
- Help refine legal support processes, document templates, filing systems, and workflow organization.

- Minimum 2 to 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in employment law or litigation.
- Strong understanding of California court procedures, deadlines, filing rules, and litigation processes.
- Experience preparing discovery, subpoenas, pleadings, complaints, and other litigation documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
- Strong proofreading, document organization, file management, and deadline management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple active cases in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to take initiative with sound professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Plaintiff-side employment law experience.
- Experience with state and federal court filings in California.
- Trial preparation experience, including organizing exhibits and drafting trial materials.
- Familiarity with Dropbox or similar digital document management systems.
