Medical Assistant Dermatology

Job Description Job Description We are a busy, patient-focused dermatology and Mohs surgery practice dedicated to providing exceptional medical, surgical, and cosmetic skin care. Our team is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will work closely with dermatologists and Mohs surgeon to assist with patient care, clinical procedures, and office operations. This position requires excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Essential Responsibilities * Room and prepare patients for dermatology and Mohs surgery appointments * Obtain and document medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints * Assist physicians during dermatologic examinations, biopsies, excisions, and Mohs surgery procedures * Prepare and maintain sterile instruments and procedure rooms * Administer injections and perform clinical tasks within scope of practice * Provide patient education regarding procedures, wound care, medications, and follow-up instructions * Assist with suture removal, dressing changes, and postoperative care * Document patient encounters accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) * Process pathology specimens and maintain proper labeling and documentation * Maintain inventory and stock examination and procedure rooms * Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety guidelines QualificationsRequired * High school diploma or equivalent * Medical Assistant certification or relevant clinical experience * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy clinical environment * Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills * Professional appearance and positive attitude Benefits: * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance
