BENEFITS AND PAYROLL COORDINATOR

Our client is a prominent, nonpartisan organization dedicated to a powerful mission. They are seeking a meticulous Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to provide critical, high-level support to their team during an upcoming peak period. This will mainly be a remote position but there is the potential to work on site at the beginning of the contract. This contract will last at least until the end of June with the potential to extend. Responsibilities

Benefits:

• Administer employee benefit and retirement programs, including 403(b) plan administration, contributions, and compliance.
• Manage employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefit systems.
• Ensure accurate and timely transmission of payroll deductions and employer contributions to carriers and plan administrators.
• Communicate benefit programs, eligibility, and changes clearly to employees and managers.
• Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and other applicable regulations.
• Support preparation and filing of Form 5500 and other required reporting.
• Administer leave-of-absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, and disability leave.
• Assist with new hire orientation and open enrollment processes.
• Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, eligibility, and coverage.
• Provide reports for billing, allocation, and internal analysis.

Payroll:

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain payroll records, including employee compensation, deductions, taxes, and changes.
• Ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
• Reconcile payroll with general ledger and bank statements.
• Prepare and maintain payroll reports.
• Process payroll tax filings and deposits.
• Support audits by providing payroll records and documentation.
• Ensure timely updates for new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
• Partner with Finance team.
• Other duties as assigned
