Our client is an AI research and data company focused exclusively on video. The company combines exabyte-scale video infrastructure, novel video-understanding techniques, and diverse data sources to create high-quality datasets for frontier AI labs, Fortune 100 companies, and fast-growing generative AI startups. Founded in 2022 and backed by leading venture investors, the team has grown rapidly to approximately 40 people.

The role and why it matters

You will be the founding growth hire for the company's expert-contributor platform, reporting directly to the COO. This is a zero-to-one operating role for someone who can acquire and activate contributors, build supply-side partnerships, improve retention, and turn funnel data into repeatable growth systems across physical AI and media-generation verticals.

What you'll do

• Build and own the contributor-platform growth engine from the ground up.

• Design and run experiments to acquire expert contributors, improve signup-to-activation conversion, and retain top talent.

• Develop partnerships with studios, creator networks, expert communities, and specialist firms.

• Work hands-on with funnel data, dashboards, cohorts, and acquisition economics to identify bottlenecks and scale winning channels.

• Run paid campaigns and creative acquisition programs with meaningful budget and autonomy.

• Build lifecycle messaging, outbound, CRM, and workflow-automation systems that support contributor growth.

• Translate contributor feedback and experiment results into improvements to onboarding, communications, incentives, product, and operations.

• Present clear recommendations and results to company leadership under close strategic review.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• 4 to 8 years of experience in growth marketing, growth operations, marketplace operations, or a closely related role.

• Direct experience building a growth program or marketplace supply motion from zero to one.

• Hands-on expertise with funnel data, cohort analysis, dashboards, experimentation, and acquisition economics.

• A record of designing growth experiments, measuring results, and scaling the channels that work.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain decisions under probing.

• Creativity, resourcefulness, high ownership, and comfort operating in ambiguity at a fast-moving startup.

• Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week or relocate.

Bonus points

• Experience growing a contributor platform, creator network, expert community, or marketplace supply side.

• Experience running paid campaigns through platforms such as Meta Ads or Google Ads.

• Background in B2B SaaS, consumer marketplaces, AI data, or adjacent contributor-driven businesses.

• Familiarity with CRM, outbound, lifecycle messaging, workflow automation, and SQL.

• $170K-$200K base salary, with flexibility up to approximately $250K for exceptional candidates.
