Plastics Mold Shop Technician

Location: WI officially (But at our Plastics Mold Shop in Sheboygan Falls - about 5 minutes from campus) Onsite. Mon-Thur 9 hrs., Fri 4 hrs.

Basic Functions: Under the direction of the Mold Shop Section Leader, this position supports all projects and activities in the Plastics Mold Shop.

Specific Responsibilities: Independently or collaboratively supports the fabrication of prototype, development, and production-grade tooling for the Plastics Bathing business. Tooling and fixture types include, but are not limited to, high-gloss gelcoat molds, high-temperature polyester thermoforming molds, fiberglass holding fixtures, and production jigs.

Supervisory Relationships: Reports to the Sr. Manager, Advanced Process and Materials, Plastics.

Organizational Relationships: Has regular contact with the other members of the Advanced Process and Materials team. Has regular contact with other members of the NPD community.

Education and Experience Requirements: Preferred, but not required: a 2-year engineering-related associate degree or 2 years of experience in a fabrication shop or similar environment. Two of the following three skills are preferred: Basic woodworking skills to accurately build part or mold models from prints. Basic metalworking and welding skills to accurately build framework from prints. Basic fiberglass laminating skills to build quality masters and molds.
