Observe and record results of tests. Be part of a team responsible for leading innovations by supporting the engine and engine component product development process. Specific Responsibilities: Set up instrumentation including thermocouples and pressure transducers and perform a variety of tests as required (power checks, fuel consumption, governor stability). Basic set up and operation of high speed data acquisition and combustion analysis software i.e. AnD, AVL, and/or EFI calibration software Observe, process, and report test data results with Microsoft Office which may affect outcome of future tests or may lead to new or useful information. Maintain complete records of all scheduled and completed tests including procedures used and result obtained. Analyze data and make recommendations for minor design modifications. Recommend enhancements of test systems or procedures. Provide occasional aid to departmental audit functions. Work with outside suppliers and customers to ensure accurate testing and results. Strong understanding of fabrication procedures. Ability to operate lathe, drill press, welding equipment and other related tools along with reading blue prints or engineering documents to prepare equipment and engine parts for testing.
