About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience required License: BLS required Certifications: ACLS preferred, EKG competency exam required during onboarding Must-Have: Certification in MedSurg is a plus Description: Position available for a MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse. Candidates will be responsible for providing care to patients with acute or chronic diseases. Common diagnoses include diabetes, hypertension, infections, electrolyte imbalances, and cardiac conditions. Post-surgical care for general, orthopedic, and trauma patients is also a part of this role. The patient to nurse ratio is 1:4-6. Nurses will engage in care coordination with the interdisciplinary team. Strong assessment and time management skills are necessary. The role includes monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Candidates should have experience with trach care, chest tube management, and IV maintenance. Administration of drips such as insulin, heparin, and amiodarone is required. CNA support will assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, and patient safety tasks. A charge nurse may or may not have patient responsibilities. Central telemetry monitoring is available 24/7. The facility utilizes an electronic medical record system. Free parking is available around the campus. The unit is known for being busy and team-oriented. Candidates must fulfill holiday shift expectations and be willing to float to other units as needed. Scheduled shifts will include a weekend rotation.
