About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Vice President of Merchandising with a strong entrepreneurial background to join their team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in scaling the business, particularly in the specialty retail sector. This role demands a hands-on retail leader with a proven track record in building and leading merchandising teams, processes, and systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years' experience in retail merchandising, buying, planning, inventory, or commercial leadership, and a background in retail startup, founder-led, or high-growth environments. Key responsibilities include creating and executing long-term merchandising strategies, managing multi-channel retail, and being adept at operating with limited resources and evolving infrastructure. Applicants for the Executive Vice President of Merchandising position at the company must possess a builder and operator mentality, with a focus on hands-on experience in buying, assortment, pricing, inventory, and vendor management. The role requires a leader who can operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment, is comfortable with changing priorities, and can demonstrate success in scaling a multi-location retail organization. Strong multi-unit retail merchandising leadership, the ability to develop and implement scalable processes, and a background in specialty retail or enthusiast-driven industries are essential. While not mandatory, experience in the collectibles or trading card industry, as well as a background in developing exclusive or differentiated product offerings, is considered a plus.
