Military Student Account Executive

Position Overview

The Senior Military & Tactical Outreach and Recruitment Executive leads Lionel University’s outreach, recruitment, and relationship-development efforts across military, veteran, and tactical communities.

This position serves as a key liaison to military installations, education and transition offices, Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), workforce organizations, employers, law enforcement, fire departments, emergency services, and other organizations serving military-affiliated and tactical professionals.

The Executive develops relationships and sustainable pipelines connecting transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, first responders, and tactical professionals with education, career development, and workforce opportunities.

Success requires military cultural competency, relationship development, recruitment, business development, public speaking, and workforce knowledge. The ideal candidate is comfortable opening new markets, representing Lionel University nationally, and converting relationships into measurable opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Military & Tactical Outreach

• Develop and execute outreach strategies for military, veteran, and tactical communities.
• Build relationships with military installations, education centers, Transition Assistance Programs (TAP), VSOs, and military-connected organizations.
• Develop relationships with police, fire, emergency services, public safety, and tactical human performance organizations.
• Represent Lionel University at education fairs, transition events, career fairs, conferences, installations, and community events.
• Identify new markets, organizations, and relationships that expand Lionel University’s military and tactical presence.

2. Recruitment & Pipeline Development

• Develop sustainable recruitment pipelines for transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, and tactical professionals.
• Generate awareness of Lionel University degree, certificate, credential, and workforce programs through relationship-based outreach.
• Identify prospective students through installations, partners, events, referrals, workforce programs, and community engagement.
• Conduct presentations, information sessions, workshops, and individual consultations.
• Coordinate with Admissions to provide timely support throughout the admissions process.
• Maintain accurate prospect, activity, and pipeline information and analyze results to improve performance.

3. Strategic Partnership Development

• Develop partnerships that expand Lionel University’s military, veteran, and tactical footprint.
• Build relationships with employers, workforce boards, apprenticeship organizations, government agencies, associations, and community organizations.
• Identify opportunities for workforce development, scholarships, articulation pathways, apprenticeships, employer-supported education, and other partnerships.
• Support partnership agreements with University leadership and maintain ongoing partner engagement.

4. Military Transition & Workforce Development

• Help transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses translate military experience into education and civilian career pathways.
• Build awareness of careers in fitness, health, wellness, strength and conditioning, human performance, and related industries.
• Develop education-to-employment pathways with employers and workforce partners.
• Support Lionel University’s Registered Apprenticeship and workforce initiatives.
• Maintain working knowledge of DoD SkillBridge, transition programs, workforce initiatives, and veteran employment resources.

5. Military & Veteran Student Support

• Serve as a trusted resource for military-affiliated prospective and current students.
• Help students understand University programs, services, policies, resources, and applicable military education benefits.
• Connect students with Admissions, Financial Services, Academic Advising, Career Services, and Student Support.
• Help facilitate timely resolution of military-affiliated student concerns.
• Collaborate across departments to strengthen the military and veteran student experience.

6. Employer & Community Engagement

• Educate employers and community organizations about Lionel University education, workforce, apprenticeship, and professional development opportunities.
• Support employers interested in recruiting and developing military-affiliated talent.
• Deliver presentations and workshops for military, employer, workforce, and community audiences.
• Collaborate with Marketing on military and tactical campaigns, events, communications, and partner resources.
• Provide market intelligence on military, veteran, tactical, and workforce trends.

7. Divisional Growth & Performance

• Contribute to the University’s Military & Tactical Division growth strategy.
• Establish outreach, partnership, workforce, and market-development goals with leadership.
• Track KPIs related to partnerships, pipeline development, market expansion, and divisional performance.
• Strengthen existing relationships and identify opportunities for expansion.
• Provide leadership with updates on opportunities, risks, market developments, and performance.
• Collaborate across Admissions, Marketing, Academic Affairs, Career Services, Student Services, and Partnerships.

8. Compliance & Operational Excellence

• Maintain current knowledge of University programs, policies, military resources, and applicable federal, state, accreditation, VA, DoD, and institutional requirements.
• Ensure outreach, recruitment, and partnership activities comply with applicable regulations and University policies.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting, and partner communications.
• Support development of military and tactical policies and procedures.
• Responsibly manage travel, events, budgets, and University resources.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in military or veteran outreach, recruitment, workforce development, business development, higher education, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of military culture, transition, and the veteran community.
• Demonstrated ability to build external partnerships and develop relationships.
• Strong public speaking, presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to independently manage a geographic or national territory.
• Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and follow-through skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred

• Prior military service or significant experience working with service members and veterans.
• Experience with military education centers, TAP, VSOs, DoD SkillBridge, Registered Apprenticeship, or workforce programs.
• Experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, partnerships, or workforce development.
• Existing relationships within military, veteran, public safety, or tactical communities.
• Experience working with veteran-friendly employers or military talent initiatives.
• Master’s degree.
• Experience working successfully in a remote environment.
