Administrative Assistant for Forestry & Land Stewardship

These include traditional forest management, long-term land use planning, adaptive weed management, and culturally appropriate land stewardship as well as long term financial analysis for forestry. Based on Hawai‘i Island, our dedicated team works to conserve and steward native ecosystems through services like large-scale tree planting, invasive species control, wildfire pre-suppression, and native forest management across the islands. Job Description: We are seeking a motivated, organized Administrative Assistant who thrives in a dynamic environment and has an interest in environmental conservation to join our team at FSI. The Administrative Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting various departments including the owner, president, human resources, bookkeeper, and foresters as needed.This position may start part-time or full-time, with a typical schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm; but hours may vary. Responsibilities & Supportive Tasks: Provide administrative support to the owner, president, HR, bookkeeper, and foresters. Manage calendars, schedule appointments, make travel arrangements, coordinate meetings and assist with general office tasks. Help track expenses and manage inventory for office supplies, equipment, and vehicles. Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls and emails. Maintain organized filing systems, both physical and digital. Support HR functions such as assisting with coordination of interviews, new hire orientation and processing paperwork. Other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the company. Requirements: Proven experience as an administrative assistant or relevant role. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strong follow-through. Willing to travel regularly to Keaʻau and Kona. Competitive pay starting at $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
