Patient Registrar

Wage Range: $22.78 - $34.96 per hour Locations: Kirkland, WA; Redmond, WA; Monroe, WA Bonus: Up to $3,000 for those new to EvergreenHealth, pro‑rated by FTE. Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity. Job Summary Represent EvergreenHealth as welcoming officials to patients and visitors and be responsible for accurate and courteous registration of patients in a manner that promotes EvergreenHealth’s values, contributing towards an optimum patient experience. Accountable for proper patient identification to ensure patient safety. Initiate the Patient Revenue Cycle for maximum and timely reimbursement with utilization of registration functions/systems. Primary Duties Interview patients or their representatives to obtain demographic and billing information via the registration area or the patient’s bedside. Assist patients in completing the appropriate consent and/or worker’s compensation forms. Complete pre‑registration of patients prior to scheduled admission as necessary (may be conducted over phone or in person with patient or patient representative). Be responsible for point‑of‑service collections. Identify the need for financial counseling and refer the patient to the Financial Clearance Unit. Demonstrate knowledge of insurance payers and the use of electronic systems for verification purposes. Work with the House Supervisor for direct and scheduled admits as needed. Update patient type changes based on physician’s orders. Inform surgery patients of scheduled admit and surgery times. Follow downtime procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High School graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology. Flexibility in work assignments, attention to detail, organization, and ability to work well with others professionally. Strong communication skills for effectively obtaining information from patients, physicians, and other clients. Ability to function independently, organize work, multitask, and establish priorities. Numerical ability required to discuss financial arrangements including deposit requirements. Good judgment for determining appropriate actions in emergent situations, problem solving, and retaining composure under stress. Detail orientation and organization. Ability to manage work volume and disseminate status updates to team members. Desired Vocational training or college degree in the healthcare setting.
