Shift will be steady once you start.Some of your key responsibilities will include:Performing quality inspectionsOperating overhead cranes and forklift to transfer materialsReading engineering drawingsPerforming machining setup changes and troubleshooting machine errorsCoaching, developing and training entry machinistsComplete regular productionMulti-task and tend to multiple machines regularlyAdjusting machining programs (specifically Mazak) to get desired resultsCollaborating with the Machinist Tech lead to learn how to build fixtures, write programs from scratch, and setup new partsWhat you'll need:Must be able to operate complex Mazak programming on precision parts and check tight tolerancesMust be able to occasionally work differing shifts for training support as neededMust be able to use basic measuring tools such as calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and tape measuresMust be able to read drawings and machine a part to a drawing with no assistanceMust be able to machine critical dimensions and adjust tooling to hit desired tolerances and be well versed in adjusting tooling, programming, and setups to get a desired resultMust be able to run Mazak machines and be able to troubleshoot machine issuesMust be a professional leader who stabilizes a team and be comfortable addressing a group and giving leadership directionMust be very patient as training is always ongoing with new/current machinistsAs a people and technical leader, must be well experienced with the technical machining of multiple part types as well as experienced with training othersMust be able to function and communicate in a team settingMust be attentive to detailMust be punctual, predictable, and have regular attendanceMust be able to stand for long durationsMust be tolerant to extreme temperaturesMust be able to work in a fast paced environmentMust have a good attitude and be adaptable to changesMust follow all safety requirements per safety department, JSA, supervision, and othersMust be available to work either shift and overtime as necessaryMust be able to lift up to 75lbsMust be able to follow a strict safety programThis is a leadership and highly technical role for an individual looking to showcase their knowledge to both complete production and build a team of newer machinistsWorking Conditions:Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidaysAbility to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plantSafety Activities:Be aware of and observe all safety practices.
