Tool Room Technician "A"/CNC Machinist- 1st or 2nd Shift

Job Details

1st or 2nd shift:

1st shift hours: 6:45am-2:45pm

2nd shift hours: 1:00pm-9:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm (some schedule flexibility allowed)

1st priority daily execution (key tasks):

• Setup and removal of molds in production equipment in order to perform necessary maintenance and PM activities
• Program and operate all tool room equipment
• Make alterations to existing molds, fixtures, and tooling in support of design changes
• Proficient in programming and operating CNC mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes
• Maintain a safe working environment in the tool room for others conducting work in the tool room
• Group leader responsibilities as assigned

2nd priority mold repairs/maintenance (key tasks):

• Mold & die disassembly & reassembly to support changeovers or repairs
• Coordinate and track mold tool repairs through CMMS (eMaint)
• Participate in RCFA on damaged tools from production

3rd priority continuous improvement reduce cost (key tasks):

• Train and mentor
• Surface problems
• Utilize PDCA to solve problems and drive improvements
• 5S

Education:

• Journeyman tool and die maker, or 7 plus years experience in a tool and die or mold shop
• Knowledge and use of CNC controls

Experience:

• 2-4 years experience in machining operations/building fixtures
• Basic computer skills
• Experience/exposure to injection molds is a plus
