Junior Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE

Brixton’s accounting team is growing, and we’re hiring a Junior Accountant ! This role supports the month-end and year-end close process across Brixton’s domestic and international entities, with responsibility for general ledger reconciliations, audit support, royalty reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis. The Junior Accountant partners closely with the Staff Accountant and Sr. Accounting Manager, as well as cross-functional teams, to ensure financial records are accurate, timely, and well-documented. This role will be based at our Carlsbad office, with an expectation of being onsite five days per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Month-End Close (35%) Drive the month-end close process for domestic and foreign subsidiaries Prepare and post journal entries as needed GL Reconciliation (40%) Reconcile general ledger accounts through monthly work-paper preparation and documentation Monitor, analyze, and reconcile prepaid expenses, miscellaneous receivables, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts Audit Support (15%) Facilitate year-end audit and additional audits as needed Royalty Reporting (10%) Assist with preparation and filing of quarterly royalty reporting Ad Hoc Analysis & Banking (10%) Assist with ad hoc financial reporting, cash flow reports, P&L variance, and balance sheet analysis Assist with banking operations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Technical / Functional Skills Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables) Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP Proficiency in MS Office and general computer software NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and Blue Cherry ERP experience a plus Exposure to AI and automation tools a plus Strong analytical and business sense Soft Skills / Behavioral Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy Deadline-driven with a strong sense of urgency Dependable, able to multi-task, and able to meet strict deadlines Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Ability to make decisions independently or escal... SALARY RANGE

The annual salary for this position is between $69,000 – $70,304. In accordance with applicable state laws, the range provided is Brixton’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
