Alterations Associate

It is part of Saks Global’s portfolio of world‑class luxury retailers and real estate assets. Responsibilities Alter constructed garments to meet or exceed the company’s quality standards. Perform alterations such as taking in shoulder blades, reducing chest, narrowing shoulders, rotating sleeves, shortening sleeves, shortening back, shortening collars, and squaring shoulders. Shorten coats, re‑line coats, and remake pockets or interior seams as required. Operate and maintain all sewing equipment. Self‑inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met. Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor, lead, or manager. Interpret a variety of written and oral instructions. Qualifications Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabrics. Ability to read English and understand instructions from the manager, supervisor, or lead. Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measurement).
