Job Description

Essenlix Corporation in Monmouth Junction, NJ, is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead and coordinate the company’s commercial and market strategy, including analyzing customer and competitive demand, defining target markets, shaping pricing and go-to-market approaches, and aligning product development with market trends and growth opportunities, while supporting revenue expansion, strategic partnerships, and investor-facing initiatives. The individual will apply advanced knowledge of business management principles and concepts, along with experience supporting revenue growth initiatives, to perform the duties of the position.

Job responsibilities and duties include:

• Develop and execute growth strategy:

o Lead the company’s strategic planning efforts, including identifying new market opportunities, evaluating competitive positioning, and defining commercial priorities.

• Build and manage strategic partnerships:

o Establish and maintain relationships with key partners, clients, and investors to drive business expansion, including exploring co-development or distribution opportunities.

• Revenue growth and go-to-market support:

o Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support pipeline development, customer segmentation, and demand generation campaigns. Tools and models may include: CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot), market sizing frameworks, financial forecasting models.

• Internal alignment and cross-functional collaboration:

o Work closely with product and operations teams to ensure commercial feedback informs internal roadmaps and to support strategic alignment across departments. Methodologies may include: agile planning, product strategy workshops.

• Fundraising and investor relations:

o Participate in capital raising efforts, including investor outreach, pitch deck development, and managing the data room and due diligence processes. Technologies and tools may include: PitchBook, Excel-based financial models, and virtual data rooms.

This position will oversee at least five (5) other employees, including the following: Marketing Manager, Sales Director, Finance Controller, and Account Executives.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, or any related field of study, plus at least five (5) years of post-degree, progressively responsible experience in any related position(s) in which the required experience was gained.

Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, or knowledge with the following:

1. Demonstrated experience developing and supporting business growth or commercial strategies.

2. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining external relationships with strategic partners or clients.

3. Demonstrated experience supporting revenue growth initiatives, including go-to-market or commercialization efforts.

4. Cross-functional collaboration with different teams (i.e., Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, or Operations teams).

5. Performing business, financial, or market analysis to support decision-making.

6. Supporting investor relations, fundraising, or external stakeholder engagement activities.

7. Financial modeling and analysis.

8. Two or more of the following finance tools: Power Query, QoE analysis, KPI dashboards, Cash flow forecasting, DCF models, or LBO models.

9. Two or more of the following investor platforms: Capital IQ, Bloomberg, MergerMarket, PitchBook, FactSet, or Refinitiv Eikon.

10. Data room management.

Domestic and international travel required approximately 10% of the time.

A hybrid work environment with work-from-home (WFH) benefit available on some days.
