Role Overview :

The Program Coordinator oversees all operational functions within the Request for Information (RFI) and Mail Room units. This role is responsible for guiding staff in accurately processing RFI requests, driver and vehicle records, mail handling tasks, and all associated workflow queues while ensuring adherence to agency policies, procedures, and turnaround standards.

You will supervise a team of ten employees, maintaining timely and accurate processing through active monitoring of workloads, queue management, task assignments, and daily efficiencies. Key duties include cross‑training, daily reporting, auditing work for accuracy, and maintaining required documentation.

The position also supports broader agency operations by updating department manuals, delivering regular training and performance feedback, approving timesheets, managing attendance, conducting one‑on‑one and team meetings, administering discipline, and ensuring overall compliance with agency expectations.

This role is in the central BMV Offices at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 4:45 pm.

Salary:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our to view the total compensation package.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are:

• Follow agency policies and operating procedures daily to ensure efficient daily production.
• Answers technical questions and traces requested information.
• Sorts and distributes or responds to and handles records, files, and other documents.
• Process mail correspondence daily which includes typing/printing letters and inserting comments.
• Oversee and track branch errors processes.
• Notify and correspond with Applicants for additional information.
• Represents the agency in a positive and professional manner.
