The ideal candidate is committed to food safety, resident satisfaction, positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work on their feet for extended periods of time and preparing meals that meet specialized dietary needs, emphasizing the IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardization initiative) Standards, Experience in cooking and kitchen tasks is required for this position. Benefits:Flexible hours NO Late Nights!Ability to advance in the companyHealth benefits for Full Time employeesPTO for Full Time employeesResponsibilities:Meal preparation- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, physician-ordered diets, and facility menusFood preparationPrepare texture-modified foods and thickened liquids in accordance with IDDSI guidelinesAssist maintaining all health code regulations in kitchenEnsure that all food is presented in an attractive and appetizing mannerProvide excellent customer service to residents and guestsAssist with cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and dining areasFollow all safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP proceduresMonitor food temperatures during preparation, holding, and serviceWork closely with the Registered Dietitian, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Dietary Manager to meet residents nutritional needsMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchenAssist with inventory, food storage, and receiving deliveriesRequirements:Positive attitude and excellent customer service skillsPrevious cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing setting preferredKnowledge of therapeutic diets and modified textures is mustExperience with the IDDS frameworkUnderstanding of food safety, sanitations, and temperature control standardsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work on feet for extended periods of timeAbility to follow recipes Understanding of basic cooking techniquesReliable means of transportation to and from workWork EOW plus some HolidaysEqual Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.Compensation details: 19-23 Hourly WagePI5a285f532520-31181-41199884
