Civil Defense Litigation Associate

About the Role
This is an opportunity to join a nationally recognized civil defense litigation practice as an Associate attorney. You will work closely with lead attorneys across all phases of litigation from initial case evaluation through trial playing a meaningful role in shaping strategy and delivering results for clients.
What Youll Do
- Attend hearings and take and defend depositions while analyzing assessing and executing litigation strategies.
- Draft written discovery including preparing and responding to interrogatories document requests and requests for admissions.
- Draft pleadings motions and other litigation documents throughout all phases of a case.
- Proactively manage communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to clients in compliance with their case management requirements.
- Conduct legal research and case investigation to support lead attorneys in trial preparation.
What Were Looking For
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active Texas State Bar membership in good standing.
- 2 or more years of civil defense litigation experience (not plaintiff-side) including depositions discovery and court proceedings.
- Demonstrated experience taking and defending depositions and drafting discovery requests and responses.
- Experience drafting pleadings and motions.
- Strong legal research and case analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Background at a mid-size or large defense firm is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $125000 to $180000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location
This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles California United States.
