This is a full time position at 40 hours per week located at Lake Forest Hospital. The schedule is 3p to 11:30p with on call and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include maintaining accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, producing diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards, applying professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges, reviewing images prior to exam completion and initiating corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met, administering contrast in accordance with policy, operating imaging equipment and maintaining imaging room readiness, identifying equipment performance issues and initiating follow-up through established service processes, coordinating exam flow and prioritizing time-sensitive studies, maintaining accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, adhering to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements, consistently upholding all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, ensuring a positive patient experience throughout care delivery, supporting department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth, supporting additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs, verifying orders and confirming protocol, positioning and immobilizing patient on examining table, positioning patients and selecting anatomic and technical parameters accurately and using ALARA principles during examinations, assuring patient, staff and personal safety by adhering to established standards including positively confirming Right Patient and Right Exam, establishing IV access for contrast administration and related lab draws, administering contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and following through with post exam instructions, preparing for and assisting the physician in computed tomography procedures, including interventional procedures, entering data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer, communicating with patient before and during procedure; monitoring safety, comfort, validating that all required series, images, protocols and reconstructions are complete and meet established image quality standards, assuring complete study transfer to PACS for radiologist interpretation, performing CT equipment QA and maintaining required logs, performing clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping, maintaining and cleaning work area and equipment; replenishing supplies as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program

Licensure: Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred:

1 year experience

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT)
