Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active state teaching certification in Special Education
- Degree in Special Education or related field required
- Experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Positive, patient, and resilient attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction for students based on IEP goals
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress and regularly update documentation
- Modify curriculum and collaborate with general education staff as needed
- Communicate proactively with families and interdisciplinary team members
- Support emotional and behavioral needs in a classroom setting
- Maintain records and adhere to legal as well as district requirements
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
