Senior Tax & Corporate Law Partner (Succession Opportunity) Practice Area: Tax Law & Corporate Advisory About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced, partner-level attorney with sophisticated Tax and Corporate Law expertise to join a premier boutique law firm as part of a planned practice succession strategy. This is a high-visibility leadership role designed for an established practitioner or senior counsel looking to step into a long-term successor arrangement, taking over a thriving practice area supported by dedicated junior associate staffing. Key Responsibilities Advise clients- including developers, borrowers, end-users, landlords, contractors, investors, and investment funds on tax and corporate law matters. Structure complex transactions and legal entities to achieve tax-efficient outcomes, including partnerships, LLCs, REITs, and joint ventures. Provide strategic tax guidance on acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, and development projects. Advise on federal, state, and local tax matters, including compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, applicable regulations, and property tax matters. Lead and mentor junior attorneys while collaborating across firm practice groups to serve clients holistically. Build and nurture client relationships to contribute to the long-term growth of the firm's transactional practice. Required Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of experience practicing transactional tax and corporate law (open to 8+ years for exceptionally qualified candidates). Pure Transactional Focus: Strong expertise in entity formation, structuring, joint ventures, and advisory work (This position does NOT handle tax litigation or controversy matters). Active license to practice law in the State of California in good standing. Comprehensive working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code as applied to transactional entities and corporate operations. Firm Background: Significant law firm experience (BigLaw or premier regional/boutique firm background preferred; in-house candidates with 6-7+ years prior law firm experience are encouraged to apply). Proven analytical, drafting, and client-counseling capabilities with the professional leadership expected of a partner. Salary and Other Compensation The annual salary for this position is between $250,000 - $350,000 (Open to more if you have an active transferrable book of business). Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
