The Nephrology Division within our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible Transplant Nephrologist to enhance our expanding and collaborative abdominal transplant program. This role presents a well-rounded practice that integrates responsibilities in both transplant nephrology and general nephrology, offering the chance to influence the future trajectory of a modern and growing transplant program.

• Engagement in a combined practice focusing on both transplant nephrology and general nephrology.

• Involvement in inpatient transplant care and participation in multidisciplinary transplant rounds.

• Management of kidney transplant recipients, which includes overseeing immunosuppression, evaluating graft function, and providing transplant-specific care.

• Shared responsibility for transplant-related inpatient consultations and on-call duties for transplant nephrology.

• Active participation in outpatient transplant clinics, which includes:

  • Evaluating pre-transplant recipients.

  • Assessing living donors.

  • Providing post-transplant follow-up care.

  • Engaging in ongoing expansion initiatives, including the NKR program.

• Collaboration with transplant surgeons, advanced practice providers, coordinators, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary support teams.

• Opportunities to engage in organ offer reviews and recipient selection discussions as transplant volumes increase.

• Active participation in quality improvement and initiatives for transplant program development.

• An academic appointment with our institution, providing opportunities for teaching, clinical collaboration, and leadership in program development.

• Experience in managing kidney transplant recipients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ideally within the last two years.

• A keen interest in expanding and modernizing a multidisciplinary transplant program.

• A well-established and growing kidney transplant program serving the Capital Region and nearby communities.

• Completion of a fellowship in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited program.

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.

• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.

• Academic experience or interest suitable for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach to patient care.

• A competitive base salary ranging from $285,000 to $300,000, depending on rank and experience, with additional incentive bonuses based on clinical and academic performance.
