Our organization in Long Island, NY, is currently seeking candidates for a position in our AST-certified transplant nephrology fellowship for the year 2026. This program aims to cultivate the next generation of skilled transplant nephrologists.

The primary training for this fellowship will take place at the Northwell Health Transplant Institute. Fellows will gain proficiency in the management of kidney transplant patients at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, as well as in outpatient settings. This includes a rotation at a partner laboratory for in-depth training in immunogenetics. Responsibilities will encompass the selection of transplant candidates, donor candidates, and the management of perioperative and long-term post-transplant care. Additionally, the Northwell Health Transplant Institute boasts comprehensive heart, lung, and liver transplant programs, allowing fellows to participate in the selection and management of candidates for multiorgan transplants. Training will also cover transplant nephropathology and provide opportunities for research. By the conclusion of the fellowship, participants will fulfill the criteria for UNOS certification as transplant nephrologists.

Applicants for the Transplant Nephrology Fellowship should have completed a U.S.-based internal medicine residency and a general nephrology fellowship, showcasing exceptional performance and scientific potential.
