Our organization is on the lookout for Board Certified/Board Eligible full-time Movement Disorders Physicians to deliver exceptional clinical care, engage in innovative healthcare models, participate in collaborative research, spearhead community initiatives, and contribute to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. As our Movement Disorders program continues to grow, we are eager to welcome new faculty members to our multidisciplinary team, with full-time positions available at the following locations:

About the Program

Our Parkinson's and Movement Disorders program ranks among the largest in the Northeast , offering comprehensive medical, rehabilitative, and surgical services at our primary academic facilities and care centers. The surgical aspect includes a robust deep brain stimulation (DBS) program and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). The multidisciplinary team at the Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center consists of board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons, along with nurse practitioners, nurses, neuropsychologists, and social workers. We work closely with our Rehabilitation Network, which includes occupational, physical, and speech therapists, all dedicated to assisting individuals with Parkinson's disease in leading fulfilling lives.

At Glen Cove Hospital in Long Island, we have established a specialized 12-bed inpatient unit dedicated to Parkinson's and movement disorders. This unit provides advanced rehabilitation services and medical and surgical optimization for patients with more complex conditions, integrating with the DBS program for post-surgical care, intensive rehabilitation, and medication management. Recently, this program received Joint Commission certification, solidifying its status as a leading inpatient program in the United States.

Department Growth

The Department of Neurology has experienced significant expansion over the past five years, aiming to deliver comprehensive, integrated healthcare and wellness services. Being part of this service line allows for connections with a large network of neurologists, participation in academic teaching, world-class grand rounds, and conferences, as well as opportunities to discuss and share cases with experts across various subspecialties. Within our organization’s Institute for Neurology, we have three hospitals recognized among the top 50 by U.S. News & World Report, with North Shore University Hospital ranked #22 nationally, alongside four comprehensive stroke programs, 11 primary stroke centers, and one thrombectomy-capable center.

Candidate Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• MD degree from an accredited institution (ACGME or similarly accredited foreign program)
• Completion of a Neurology residency and a fellowship in Movement Disorders
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Must hold or be eligible for a medical license in the State of New York

The full-time clinical base salary at our organization ranges from $125K to $750K, influenced by various factors such as specialty, experience level, quality of care, academic achievements, patient satisfaction, and productivity.
