CRO Business Development Manager

Job Description Rapidly growing East Coast CRO drug testing research organization is looking for a Business Development Manager (5 to 10 years' experience) to advance their already very successful R&D services. Position is remote, but you must be based in Boston. Also involves travel. Reports to a VP. NB – This position focuses on selling services, not products. Salary commensurate with level of experience. Not a role for new grads. Responsibilities Business development and meet set targets within the industry. Expand the client base as well as manage and grow existing accounts. Leverage personal industry contacts to enable new leads and growth. Collaborate with scientific team to determine the appropriateness of new opportunities. Provide presentations to clients on site or at trade shows. Selling services, not products. Perform sales activities, including managing customer meetings, preparing proposals and contracts, negotiating sales and budgets, attending trade shows and conferences, and monitoring customer satisfaction. Efficient use of contact CRMs, communications, letters, and emails. Qualifications BS/B.Sc. or higher in Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry/Life Sciences, or related field. Any sales or formal management training is an asset. Over 5 years of experience in business development within healthcare/biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical. CRO experience strongly preferred. Senior (over 10 years) preferred but less experience considered. Knowledge of pharmacology, toxicology, ADME, PK/PD, testing of vaccines, biologics, small molecules, in vivo and in vitro testing is welcome. Proven track record of increasing sales and growing customer base. Pertinent contact list attractive. Located in Boston, MA. Up to 50% overnight travel required; appropriate passport needed for travel outside USA. Driver's license. Strong, clear English communication skills. Visas not covered.
