The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Newbuild Project Financial Controller reporting to the Senior Director of Newbuild Finance. This position works on-site in Miami, Florida. Position Summary: This role leads the development, validation, and optimization of vessel cost estimates across global newbuild programs. This role coordinates cross‑functional efforts between Miami, Turku, and Saint‑Nazaire teams to assess prototype and sister‑ship pricing, evaluate technical design options, and analyze recurring and incremental costs. The position drives cost‑savings initiatives by identifying, quantifying, and tracking optimization opportunities in partnership with Newbuild, site offices, brand leadership, and third‑party advisors. Additionally, the Controller oversees the creation and continuous enhancement of a comprehensive ship pricing model and cost database, ensuring accurate economic inputs and alignment of data across shipyards and site offices. The role also collaborates closely with Commercial and Legal teams to evaluate and recommend contracting terms that improve cost transparency and support savings incentives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Controller will coordinate efforts across the Miami Office, Turku, and Saint Nazaire offices to: Compileandvalidatecost estimates for new vessel concepts,technical specifications,reference vessels, and yard proposals. Provide real-time evaluation and valuation of design/technical options, associated costs,risks, and potential costdrivers /variances.time evaluation and valuation of design/technical options, risks, and potential cost variances. Reviewand evaluaterecurring and incremental costs, including change orders, across multiple newbuild programs. Cost & Savings Optimization This role will likewise work withthe Newbuild Organizationincluding our Site Offices,theCorporation, our Brand leadershipandany contractedthird partiesto: Identify, quantify,validate, and track cost savings opportunities acrossthenewbuildportfolio. Supportcost reductionefforts in partnership withtheNewbuildingteam(including Site Offices)operational and shared servicepartners and any third-party advisors hired for this purpose.reduction efforts in partnership with Report ontargetedandrealized savings andmaintaina repository of costsaving opportunities for future programs.savingopportunities for future programs. Vessel Cost Modeling & Analytics Finally, this role will oversee the developmentof a comprehensiveship pricingmodel and associated costing database by: Owningthe development and continuous enhancement of the Ship Component Pricing Model and underlying cost database. Maintainingmacro and microeconomic pricing inputs, including labor, turnkey, procurement, inflation indices, and raw material dynamics. Aggregating andaligning datafrom site offices and shipyards to generate holistic,accuratevessel pricing estimates. Commercial & Contracting Support This role will alsopartner withourCommercial and Legal teams to propose and evaluate contract terms enhancing cost transparency and enabling savings incentives. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 12+ years of financial modeling, pricing, cost engineering, ornewbuild relatedfinance. Expertise incomplex cost structures, large capital projects, orlong-termindustrial programs. Strong collaboration skills acrosscross functionalglobal teams.
