Assistant Project Manager - Process Piping

Assistant Project ManagerA leading mechanical contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support major process piping projects. This role works closely with Project Managers and field leadership and will take ownership of project controls, procurement, cost management, scheduling, change management, and field coordination.The ideal candidate has experience supporting complex mechanical or process piping construction and is ready to take on greater project responsibility with a long-term path toward Project Management.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with overall management and execution of process piping and mechanical projectsManage RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders, and project documentationTrack project budgets, commitments, labor, materials, and overall job costsAssist with forecasting, billing, cost reporting, and financial projectionsCoordinate project schedules, manpower needs, procurement, and major milestonesManage vendor, supplier, and subcontractor coordinationPartner with Superintendents and Foremen to address field issues and maintain productivityReview drawings, specifications, P&IDs, scopes, and contract documentsSupport change-order pricing, scope development, and documentationParticipate in owner, GC, subcontractor, and internal project meetingsHelp mentor and oversee Project Engineers on assigned projectsSupport commissioning, turnover, closeout, and final project documentationRequirements~5 years of project management or project engineering experience within constructionMechanical contractor, process piping, plumbing, or industrial construction experience strongly preferredExperience with pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, high-purity piping, or similar complex projects is highly valuedStrong understanding of RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, change orders, and cost controlsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and piping documentationExperience coordinating directly with field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and clientsStrong financial, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience consideredCompensation & BenefitsEmployee ownership opportunity through an ESOPMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation, sick time, and holidaysProfessional training and continued development
