Snapshot / Role Overview

We're seeking a Process Piping Assistant Project Manager in Thousand Oaks, CA to support the full-cycle delivery of a major process piping project from procurement and buyout through commissioning support and final turnover.

Impact

• Drive document control across submittals, RFIs, and change orders so a major piping project moves without administrative delays.
• Support procurement of piping materials, equipment, and subcontracted services to protect schedule and budget on a large-scale scope.
• Keep field coordination between superintendents and design teams tight so piping and plumbing installations stay on sequence.
• Protect project margin by maintaining accurate cost reports and forecasts alongside the senior PM.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders from initiation through resolution on a major process piping project.
• Build and maintain project schedules in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 and flag float risks early.
• Coordinate procurement and buyout of piping materials, plumbing equipment, and subcontracted services.
• Support the senior PM in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
• Review piping submittals, shop drawings, and isometrics against contract documents and P&IDs for conformance.
• Partner daily with field superintendents to resolve installation and sequencing issues.
• Maintain weld logs, turnover packages, and closeout documentation through punch list and final handover.
• Support commissioning and qualification activities as the project moves toward startup.

Requirements

Must-Haves

• Experience supporting process piping, industrial piping, or mechanical plumbing construction at a contractor.
• Demonstrated experience managing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and procurement on major construction projects.
• Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, piping specifications, and shop drawings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 for schedule tracking.
• Located in the Thousand Oaks, CA area or Ventura County and available for regular onsite presence.

Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to high-purity piping systems including clean steam, WFI, RO/DI, or process gases.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME BPE, or cGMP construction environments.
• Experience with Procore and Bluebeam for document management.
