• Pay Rate: $61.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12 Hours)

Job Summary

This is a Medical/Surgical Telemetry travel nurse position working nights on a step-down unit caring for patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization diagnoses. The unit functions as a step-down from ICU with no ventilator or pressor support, and accepts a defined range of drip medications including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation, with full telemetry monitoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis needs, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization diagnoses
• Manage and monitor patients on approved drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
• Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring
• Float to other like units as required if needed
• Provide weekend coverage on an every-other-weekend basis (schedule may change based on unit need)

Required Skills

• Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience
• Experience with step-down/progressive care patients (no ventilator or pressor support)
• Ability to manage drip medications: heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
• Telemetry monitoring proficiency
• Ability to float to like units as needed

Education Requirements

• Active Tennessee (TN) RN License required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required
• Flu vaccination required — no exemptions

Required Experience

• At least 1 year of EPIC electronic health records experience
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience level as reviewed by the unit

• Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
