Job Position: Rolling Mill Operator
Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay Rate: $18.00-$19.00/ hour, depending on experience
Shifts:

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM-6:00 PM
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM-6:00 AM
• Rotating schedule with alternating weekends
• Schedule consists of 32 hours one week and 48 hours the following week

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Rolling Mill Operator to join a busy industrial manufacturing operation in Northeast Houston.

This is a hands-on production position responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting industrial processing equipment to manufacture quality products according to established specifications and production requirements.

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working around large industrial machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor industrial production equipment safely and efficiently
• Set up, adjust, and monitor machinery according to production requirements and work instructions
• Monitor machine settings and operating conditions to maintain consistent product quality
• Perform equipment adjustments, changeovers, and setup activities as needed
• Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related equipment
• Identify and report equipment issues, product defects, and process deviations
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance
• Record production, quality, and equipment information accurately in company systems
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment after appropriate training and authorization
• Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow workplace organization and housekeeping standards
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production, safety, and quality goals
• Support continuous improvement and other production activities as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial production experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial equipment
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Commitment to following safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
• Willingness to work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, heat, dust, and moving equipment

Work Environment

This position is performed in an industrial manufacturing facility and requires working around heavy machinery, production equipment, and material-handling operations. Employees must follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures and remain alert while operating or working near industrial equipment.

Schedule

This is a rotating 12-hour shift position.

• 6:00 AM-6:00 PM or 6:00 PM-6:00 AM
• Alternating weekends
• Rotating schedule
• Approximately 32 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Overtime may be required based on production needs

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working with industrial machinery. Previous machine-operation experience is preferred, but candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn may also be considered.
