Shop Welder (MIG / Stick)
Direct hire | Union Shop | 2nd Shift (3pm to 11:30pm) TOPS Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company to hire experienced Shop Welders for a direct hire opportunity. We're currently hiring 2nd Shift Welders to support continued growth within the fabrication department. This is an excellent opportunity for welders looking for steady, long-term employment with a union manufacturer that offers excellent benefits, consistent hours, and opportunities to expand their skills.
Schedule & Pay 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Starting Pay: $26.00/hour Candidates will complete an initial training period on daylight shift before moving to their permanent 2nd shift schedule.
What You'll Do
- Perform MIG and Stick welding on a variety of fabricated steel components
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Prepare materials by fitting, grinding, and cleaning weld joints
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete production documentation as required
- Train on Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) as needed (experience is a plus but not required)
Qualifications
- Previous MIG and Stick welding experience required
- Ability to pass a weld test at time of interview
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Reliable attendance and a strong safety mindset
- SAW welding experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
