Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join the Denver office of a nationally recognized AmLaw 200 law firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of experience in business, commercial, or real estate litigation who is looking to take on greater responsibility, work on sophisticated matters, and continue developing their litigation practice.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced partners, associates, and clients on complex disputes in Colorado and federal courts, as well as litigation and arbitration matters across the country.

• Manage a broad range of complex business, commercial, and real estate litigation matters in state and federal courts.

• Handle all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, pretrial preparation, and resolution.

• Draft and argue substantive and dispositive motions.

• Conduct and defend depositions, including preparing fact and expert witnesses.

• Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.

• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.

• Conduct sophisticated legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda, briefs, and other litigation documents.

• Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and electronic discovery.

• Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, litigation strategies, and potential resolutions.

• Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals across the firm's national offices.

• Independently manage assigned matters while maintaining exceptional standards of client service.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Active Colorado Bar membership in good standing.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

• Excellent oral advocacy and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.

• Strong professional judgment, initiative, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative legal team.

• Commitment to providing exceptional client service and developing strong professional relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of substantive litigation experience, preferably involving business, commercial, or real estate disputes.

• Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions.

• Experience taking and defending depositions.

• Experience appearing in state or federal court.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage discovery, motion practice, and other significant aspects of complex litigation.

• Experience working directly with clients and developing litigation strategies.

• Prior trial preparation or courtroom experience.

Salary Range: $180,000-$200,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus, commensurate with education and experience. 

Work Arrangement: In Office. All employees will be in office. Hybrid arrangements may be available after training at the discretion of the hiring manager.
