Registered Nurse (RN) - ER

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Schedule: Night Shift 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36.00

Requirements:

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (required within 6 months of hire)
• At least one year of acute care experience
• Recent experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform triage assessments on patients and notify the Emergency Department physician of abnormal signs and vital signs.
• Review and complete patient orders in a timely manner.
• Provide medication side effects education to all patients who receive medications in the emergency department.
• Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and respond appropriately.
• Administer medication, manage intravenous therapy, and oversee the care of medical equipment.
• Participate in emergency response situations and demonstrate knowledge in handling critical events.

Compliance / Notes:

• Auto Offer: Night Shift 3 x 12s or 4 x 12s.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), TNCC.
• Recent experience with EPIC is required.
