Senior Business Analyst – P&C Insurance / Specialty Underwriting

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical Senior Business Analyst with 10+ years of experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain, with strong expertise in Underwriting, Claims, Specialty Lines of Business, insurance forms, and data analysis.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience analyzing insurance forms, performing forms mapping, supporting underwriting processes, and translating complex business and regulatory requirements into clear documentation and actionable solutions. Strong attention to detail, manual rating/computation experience, and advanced Excel skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requests related to insurance forms and ensure business requirements are captured comprehensively.
• Perform detailed forms mapping, ensuring complex insurance forms align with business, underwriting, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, underwriting teams, actuarial teams, and operational teams to clarify and document requirements.
• Analyze form workflows, business rules, data elements, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure insurance forms adhere to applicable P&C insurance industry standards, legal requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Work extensively with underwriting and claims business processes.
• Support Specialty Lines of Business and understand the unique requirements associated with specialty P&C insurance.
• Analyze data and perform detailed manual rating exercises and computations where required.
• Use Excel or similar analytical tools to perform calculations, validate business rules, and support underwriting/rating analysis.
• Manage and prioritize multiple business requests/tickets simultaneously.
• Track progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential risks in forms, business rules, and requirements.
• Prepare clear and detailed business documentation for business, underwriting, operational, and technical teams.
• Provide ongoing support and clarification related to insurance forms and business processes.
• Participate in requirement walkthroughs, stakeholder discussions, and solution validation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of Business Analyst experience, preferably within the P&C Insurance industry.
• Strong experience in P&C Underwriting and Claims.
• Proven expertise in Underwriting processes and business analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Specialty Lines of Business within P&C insurance.
• Strong understanding of insurance forms, forms mapping, business rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven and deeply analytical mindset.
• Experience performing manual computations and rating exercises with a high degree of accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar analytical tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into clear documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tickets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
• Experience working closely with Underwriting or Actuarial teams.
• Knowledge of insurance rating methodologies and business rules.
• Experience with insurance technology platforms and P&C policy administration environments.
