Controller

Overview Well established non-profit organization located in the San Gabriel area is looking for a Controller. While overseeing a small accounting team and reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for the day to day accounting functions of the organization. Duties for the Controller include ensuring efficient accounting policies and procedures (i.e., fiscal budget process, regulatory and government audits, overseeing month / quarter/ year-end closes, A/P, A/R, payroll, etc.). The Controller will also review payroll, conduct business analytics, help manage government grants and funded programs, lead cyclical audits, prepare regulatory compliance documents, prepare tax filings, as well as partake in strategic business operations decisions. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting functions and supervise a small accounting team, reporting to the CFO. Ensure efficient accounting policies and procedures, including the fiscal budget process and government audits. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. Review payroll and conduct business analytics to support strategic operations. Assist with government grants and funded programs management. Lead cyclical audits and prepare regulatory compliance documents. Prepare tax filings and participate in strategic business operations decisions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Strong non-profit industry / government funded program experience. CPA and/or MBA is preferred. 8+ years of accounting and finance experience. At least four years of management experience. Salary range: $130,000 – $140,000 per year.
