About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care/Oncology Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a large urban hospital is required. Must have prior experience with drips and telemetry. License: Active nursing license required. Pending license accepted, but must be in hand before start date. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. Must-Have: Epic charting experience is necessary. No locals accepted; candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility. Description: The unit serves adult progressive surgical, oncology, palliative care, and progressive acute care patients receiving chemotherapy. Travelers will float within the scope to meet staffing needs, which may include floating to other units. This facility is a nicotine-free environment. RNs are required to wear designated scrubs with the facility logo. Weekend shifts will include working four weekends out of eight possible in a four-week period. Holiday requirements include working two out of three major holidays. Medical and religious exemptions for vaccinations are accepted. RNs must have skills in various critical care areas, including telemetry and management of drips. The care teams include various support roles, such as care techs and transport teams. All staff must adhere to infection control practices. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1 during night shifts. RNs will be expected to manage dysrhythmias and administer blood products as needed. The facility offers a comprehensive approach to patient care through interdisciplinary support teams.
