Make a real impact supporting students in a dynamic school setting as a paraprofessional contracted through the 2026-2027 school year. Two immediate opportunities are available with roles tailored to individual student needs: one supporting a full-year medical leave and one within a specialized program designed for students with significant emotional needs. These positions are onsite, collaborating closely with educators and specialists to create a supportive, inclusive environment.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in a therapeutic support role, especially with students with emotional or behavioral needs
- Delaware Paraeducator Permit required (must be in hand; pending or in process will not be accepted—attach a screenshot from the DEEDS portal if pending)
- Ability to pay for required $85 CBC fingerprinting
- Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient demeanor
- Team-oriented with flexibility and a proactive, compassionate approach to helping children succeed
- For the medical leave support role, male candidates are preferred due to caseload requirements
- RBTs welcome to apply, but please note supervision for certification must be managed outside school hours
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support inside and outside the classroom, following specific care and instructional strategies
- Assist students in their learning process and personal development
- Work in partnership with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement individualized plans
- Offer behavior management and emotional support, especially within the STRIVE program role
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and procedures
