Psychological Services Specialist, DHS - Warren State Hospital

Overview As a Psychological Services Specialist with the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will help patients build the skills they need to move forward in life. Responsibilities Individual Treatment: Deliver psychological treatment services that follow best practice guidelines and departmental standards. Group Instruction: Lead psychoeducational groups that teach skills for managing psychiatric symptoms and supporting recovery. Clinical Assessment: Conduct assessments involving intelligence, cognitive abilities, personality factors, neuropsychological needs, functional levels, and psychological conditions. Behavioral Planning: Develop and carry out behavioral programs that support patients in meeting treatment goals. Patient Evaluation: Evaluate newly admitted and annually reviewed patients to help the interdisciplinary team form treatment plans. Family Consultation: Work with family members and community partners to identify supports for successful living in less restrictive environments. Work Schedule and Information Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime and travel as operationally necessary. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases. Parking: Free parking. Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
