Full Time Plano, TX, US 10 days ago Requisition ID: 1821 Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $120,000.00 Annually About the Role The Director of Materials is responsible for purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, distribution of supplies and medical equipment.

POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct and coordinate material management functions. Manage purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment. Maintain and manage the Purchase Order Log. Review surgery schedules to identify any special orders, non-stock supplies or special equipment needed well in advance. Adhere to processes for issuing supplies and proactively replenish stock to prevent stock out or shortages. Maintain materials accountability systems to support the hospital. Accountable for all medical supply/services spend and resultant financial results with respect to budget/forecasting/targets. Research supplies to find possible cost savings and present findings to management teams to implement savings. Accountable for direct reports and their productivity. Accountable for building and maintaining relationships with peer department heads and administrative leadership teams. Represent Supply Chain in various committees and meetings. Oversee the physical inventory count. Present inventory utilization, dollar spend, and supply chain operations on a quarterly basis and include in management operating reports. Direct product conversion efforts. Accountable for meeting Supply Chain measures of success related to spend/inventory/HR/customer satisfaction. Responsible for continuous improvement of material flow, utilization analysis and supply chain optimization. Charged to continually develop hospital identified savings prospects and exploit known opportunities. Assist the Surgery Department in the coordination, implementation, and updates of physician preference cards. Set clear goals and expectations; provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews. Develop talent through mentoring, training, and career development initiatives. Promote a collaborative and engaging work environment that aligns with company values. Manage conflict and make timely decisions to maintain team focus and performance. Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings, performance reviews, and development conversations. Approve timecards, schedules, time‑off requests, and other administrative HR functions. Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and safety regulations. All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration preferred. Associate Degree Business Administration required. A minimum five year’s experience in a Materials Management supervisory capacity.
