This role is a great fit for an HR professional who enjoys variety but brings a strong background in employee benefits administration . You’ll take a lead role in managing our health and welfare benefit plans—including medical, dental, vision, supplemental insurance, FSA and HSA—while also supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee programs, HR systems, compliance, and other areas of the employee experience. Hands-on experience managing employee benefit plans is a must for this position. We’re looking for someone who understands the details behind benefits administration and can confidently support employees, work with vendors, manage enrollments and changes, reconcile plans, and help ensure our benefit programs run smoothly. What You’ll Do Administer healthcare and benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, and process required documentation through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate records and deductions. Serve as the primary contact for benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators, ensure benefit vendors are paid appropriately, conduct benefit audits, and recommend actions as needed. Handle employee benefit inquiries and refer complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified candidates while partnering with managers to understand the skills and competencies needed for open positions. Assist with managing, tracking, and completing required onboarding tasks for new and transferring employees. Manage pre-employment and random drug screening programs. Implement and manage employee programs and sites, including The Compass, Notary and Medallion Stamp programs, Energage survey, See Everything, The Vault, Compass Employee Fund, and others. Oversee employee apparel, including selecting and designing approved items, ordering and distributing apparel, and managing purchases such as business cards, name tags, and other merchandise. Assist with planning and coordinating employee and/or member functions. Maintain knowledge of HRIS records, including database maintenance and password resets, and compile reports as needed. Prepare, save, and maintain employee documentation in the appropriate employee files and imaging systems, including job descriptions, disaster recovery forms, performance documentation, new-hire documentation, medical documentation, and other records. Assist with investigations and termination-related tasks as needed. Stay current on HR and talent management trends, best practices, and new technologies. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommend best practices, and assist with reviewing policies and practices for compliance. Requirements 2–5 years of related Human Resources experience. Hands-on experience administering employee health and welfare benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, supplemental insurance, FSA and/or HSA plans. Experience managing benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, terminations, employee questions, vendor relationships, and benefit reconciliation/auditing. Strong organization and prioritization skills with excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain benefit information clearly to employees. Experience with HRIS administration, talent acquisition/recruiting, vendor management, and employee recordkeeping/documentation. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Forms; experience with systems such as UKG, Symitar, and Laserfiche is a plus.
