Accounts Payable Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a growing organization in Hanover, MD. The ideal candidate will have strong full-cycle accounts payable experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage high invoice volumes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices in a multi-entity environment.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable functions, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.
• Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and credit card transactions.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and account issues.
• Maintain and update vendor records.
• Review banking notifications and assist with fraud prevention procedures.
• Support implementation of AP process improvements, including ACH and corporate card programs.
• Assist with documentation of departmental procedures and workflows.
• Collaborate with internal departments and support additional accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience.
• Strong knowledge of AP processes and accounting principles.
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
