About the role

 

Volumetric Building Companies (VBC) is seeking a strategic, results-oriented Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) to lead the organization's digital transformation and technology strategy. This role will develop and execute a technology roadmap that enables operational excellence, scalability, and innovation across a rapidly growing modular construction and manufacturing enterprise. 

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Information Technology will be responsible for enterprise systems, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data and analytics, application development, SAP Public Cloud, manufacturing technologies, AI initiatives, and IT service delivery across the globe. 

The ideal candidate combines leadership with deep technology experience supported by our existing IT team work across manufacturing operations, ERP platforms, supply chain systems, security and network infrastructure, and business transformation initiatives. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Enterprise Technology Strategy 

• Develop and execute a multi-year technology strategy aligned with VBC's business objectives and growth plans. 
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the Executive Leadership Team on technology investments, risks, and opportunities. 
• Create a technology roadmap that enables scalability across manufacturing facilities, project delivery operations, and corporate functions. 
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, visibility, and profitability. 

 

Digital Transformation 

• Lead enterprise transformation initiatives including ERP optimization, manufacturing systems integration, workflow automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. 
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Management, Finance, HR, and Design leadership to modernize business processes. 
• Drive adoption of advanced technologies that improve labor productivity, production planning, inventory management, and project execution. 

 

SAP & Enterprise Applications 

• Own the long-term strategy and governance for SAP Public Cloud and related business applications. 
• Ensure systems effectively support finance, procurement, inventory management, manufacturing operations, project management, and reporting. 
• Lead system enhancements, integrations, and business process optimization initiatives. 
• Establish application governance, prioritization frameworks, and change management processes. 

 

Manufacturing Systems & Operational Technology 

• Develop technology solutions that support manufacturing efficiency, quality, scheduling, maintenance, and material flow. 
• Drive integration between shop floor operations and enterprise systems. 
• Partner with Manufacturing leadership to improve production visibility, labor reporting, KPI management, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Evaluate and implement digital manufacturing capabilities that support operational scalability. 

 

Data & Business Intelligence 

• Establish a company-wide data strategy and governance framework. 
• Develop enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities that provide actionable insights to leadership teams. 
• Build scalable data architecture supporting operational, financial, and strategic decision-making. 
• Promote data-driven decision making throughout the organization. 

Cybersecurity & Risk Management 

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. 
• Ensure appropriate controls, policies, and processes are implemented to protect company assets and information. 
• Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning. 
• Manage compliance requirements, audits, and risk mitigation efforts. 
• Establish security awareness programs across the organization. 

 

Infrastructure & IT Operations 

• Ensure reliable and secure operation of all enterprise infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, and end-user technologies. 
• Establish service delivery standards, KPIs, and performance metrics. 
• Drive continuous improvement in IT support and operational effectiveness. 
• Manage external vendors, service providers, and technology partners. 

Leadership & Talent Development 

• Build and lead a high-performing global IT organization. 
• Develop leadership capability, succession plans, and career progression opportunities within the IT team. 
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and customer service. 
• Establish clear objectives and performance expectations across the technology organization. 

 

Financial Management 

• Develop and manage operating and capital technology budgets. 
• Prioritize investments based on business value and strategic impact. 
• Establish governance processes for technology spending and project portfolio management. 
• Drive cost optimization while supporting business growth. 

About you

• 15+ years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience. 
• 7+ years leading enterprise technology organizations. 
• Experience supporting manufacturing, construction, industrial, or supply chain-focused organizations. 
• Experience working with high-growth middle-market private equity backed organizations 
• Strong ERP experience/mindset, with prior experience SAP (Public Cloud) preferred 
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, cybersecurity, data analytics, AI strategy, and enterprise architecture. 
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale business transformation initiatives. 
• Experience managing multi-site and geographically dispersed organizations. 
• Strong financial, strategic planning, and executive communication skills. 
• Familiarity with operational technology (OT), production systems, and Industry 4.0 initiatives. 
• Professional certifications such as CIO, CISSP, PMP, ITIL, SAP, TOGAF, or equivalent. 
• Ability to travel up to 25%
