Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment strategies that address both immediate issues and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions centered on communication, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing enhancement.
• Work in tandem with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure a united approach to patient care.
• Provide educational support to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond clinical appointments.
• Occasionally assess and manage inpatient speech therapy needs, ensuring comprehensive care from the first visit through the recovery journey.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and promptly in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Stay abreast of developments within the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be attained within 30 days of employment.
