Department of Biology, Health, and the Environment The Department embraces an interdisciplinary mission at the intersection of human, animal, plant, and environmental health and prepares students with interests in health careers. It has eight research faculty and over fifty non‑tenured faculty members. The department offers undergraduate programs in Biology, Health Sciences, Environmental Science, and Environmental Studies, and master's programs in Biology and Environmental Science. The One Health paradigm underpins its teaching and research. Job Type: Full Time Salary: Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Position Summary The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in biology or environmental science to support the department’s degree programs. This position has a baseline teaching requirement of four undergraduate or graduate lecture courses each semester. Faculty members teaching coordinated courses must collaborate actively with colleagues and adhere to the parameters outlined in the teaching contract, maintaining consistency in course content, assessments, and instructional practices to promote a cohesive learning environment. Qualifications PhD in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Instruction) or MS in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Practice). an MD with relevant clinical experience may also be considered Experience teaching biology and/or environmental science lectures and labs. Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
