Vista Counseling Center is actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to join our dedicated team in a full-time, remote capacity. As an LPCC, you will specialize in providing therapy and support to clients undergoing detoxification at our esteemed Detox Center located in Vallejo, California. Your expertise will play a critical role in aiding individuals with mood disorders, including depression and anxiety, on their path to recovery and improved mental health.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing counselors to provide flexible and accessible care to clients from the comfort of their homes. You will utilize telehealth platforms to conduct virtual sessions, ensuring that clients have consistent access to therapeutic support, particularly during their detoxification process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients for severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms, ensuring an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
• Collaborate individually with clients to create personalized treatment plans based on their unique experiences and therapeutic goals.
• Implement evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), focusing on managing symptoms associated with mood disorders.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment strategies, and self-care techniques to enhance understanding and support.
• Continuously monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to optimize effectiveness.
• Engage in regular consultations with psychiatrists and other health professionals to provide integrated care tailored to each client’s needs.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in mood disorder therapies and integrate new research into your practice for improved patient outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive and compliant documentation for all client interactions in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development opportunities to refine your clinical skills and contribute to team knowledge.
• Actively advocate for clients, working to de-stigmatize mood disorders and promote mental health awareness within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients experiencing mood disorders, which may include those in the early stages of recovery from substance use challenges. You will utilize trauma-informed care principles to support individuals in vulnerable states, ensuring their psychological safety throughout the therapeutic process. Additionally, your work will strengthen outcomes for clients from varied backgrounds, helping cultivate resilience in their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.
• A minimum of three years of direct clinical experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on mood disorders preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic modalities, particularly evidence-based approaches such as CBT and DBT.
• Strong capabilities in client advocacy and understanding psychopharmacology to facilitate optimal collaborations with psychiatrists and other providers.
• Proven ability to establish rapport and effective communication with clients from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of mental health needs.

Preferred Experience

• Advanced knowledge of mood disorders, including bipolar disorder and depression, and proven success in treating these issues.
• Experience in a detox or outpatient setting where you have successfully engaged with clients undergoing significant life transitions or crises.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in client engagement techniques, treatment interventions, and managing complex behavioral situations.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
