Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active state or compact license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Travel experience preferred. Previous charge experience preferred. Experience with Epic charting system required. Description: The Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care for a diverse patient population with renal and urological diagnoses. This unit focuses on patients post-prostate surgery, renal stones, and surgeries on the bladder and kidney. Nurses will manage procedures such as 3-way catheter irrigations, bladder scans, and incontinence care. Patients admitted range from young adulthood to geriatrics. The workload includes telemetry overflow for medical-surgical patients. Patient ratios are expected to be 1 nurse to 6 patients. Mandatory weekend and floating to units of equal or lesser acuity. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The focus is on providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
