About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its leadership team. The CFO will be a key figure in overseeing all financial aspects of the business, providing strategic guidance to support growth, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability. This role involves leading financial strategy, capital management, and operational rigor, and serving as a core member of the executive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for long-term financial planning, capital allocation, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate finance activities. Additionally, the CFO will lead equity financing efforts, manage government-funded programs, and ensure financial compliance. The role also includes supporting potential licensing transactions, strategic partnerships, and M&A opportunities, while maintaining appropriate financial reporting, audit readiness, and governance frameworks. Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' progressive finance experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations. Experience in a clinical-stage company, particularly in a CFO or Head of Finance role, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading or co-leading equity raises, as well as experience in building and scaling finance functions, systems, and teams. Professional credentials such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are preferred. The role requires a candidate who is adept at operating in a fast-paced clinical-stage environment, and who can effectively collaborate across scientific, clinical, legal, and business functions. The CFO will also be the primary financial representative for the company, engaging with investors, government partners, financial institutions, and the Board, while driving execution, accountability, and long-term financial strategy.
